Ball valves are a practical and economical way to control flow in a wide variety of applications, and Swagelok’s 60 Series offers customers a unique value proposition. Designed for reliability and low maintenance, the general purpose 60 Series valve is offered in a wide variety of end connections from 1/4 -inch to 2 inch, and we can add different flanges to allow a mixed-connection valve to fit your specific application needs.
Robust seat sealing is accomplished by combining reinforced PTFE with additional seat support and a coned-disc spring, and a reliable stem seal is achieved by a two-piece chevron packing live-loaded with Belleville springs; both superior design standards when compared to conventional packed valves. Looking for a valve that can be easily maintained? The swing-out design of the 4-bolt valves allows fast and easy maintenance with the valve inline, helping decrease downtime and labour costs.

In addition to the versatile general purpose 60 Series valve, we also offer special 60 Series valves designed for use in specific applications:
Steam Service – S60P Series - Our steam service ball valve can reduce lost energy, downtime, and safety hazards associated with leaking valves in a steam system. Unlike conventional sealing methods, the patented design of the seats and stem packing in the steam series ball valves resist the erosive nature of steam, thus improving performance and enhancing safety.
Thermal Service – T60M Series - Our thermal service ball valve is designed for applications in which heat transfer liquids are used. With its unique, spring-like metal seat, this valve is designed to maintain a seal with a minimum seat load against the ball.
Fire Service – A60T Series - Our fire service ball valve contains a live-loaded grafoil stem packing that provides a reliable stem seal during normal conditions, and maintains that seal in the event of a fire. A vented ball allows pressure to equalize between valve body and upstream port, preventing over pressurization and potential seal blowout under fire conditions. The encased 8-bolt construction maintains body integrity and body seals during rapid temperature changes resulting from fire exposure and water quenching.
Chlorine Service – C60V Series - Our chlorine service valve is designed in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Chlorine Institute and has a carbon steel valve body with virgin PTFE seats and packing, and an Alloy 400 ball. An upstream ball vent prevents over pressurization in the ball and body when the valve is closed.
Unique Options Complement Versatility
To further bolster the broad application base of the Swagelok 60 Series, the valves are available with a wide spectrum of options and accessories. Low dead space inserts help reduce fluid entrapment around the ball, stem, and seats while the valve is open or closed and a variety of handle options allow easy identification of process and lockout capability to prevent accidental actuation.
Actuation options include Swagelok rack and pinion, and ISO-5211 compliant pneumatic actuators with available solenoid valves, limit switches, and position sensors. These are available in both spring-return and double acting modes. Swagelok also offers electric actuators, both rugged and lightweight, that meet NEMA 4X or IP66 specifications.
